Wedding | Nic ♥ Mike

If someone had told me I would be dodging golf balls whilst photographing a wedding I would never have believed them.

I always understand that the idea of golf was to drive the ball down the fairway, onto the green and into that little hole but some of the players at Portal Golf Club on this particular Saturday seemed to be aiming for me instead. Maybe the sight of a photographer standing at the side of the 18th Fairway photographing a newly-wed bride and groom was a little too much too resist

Fantastic wedding which was very different on many fronts and being able to photograph Nic and Mike on a 'working' gold course was just one of them. A great day particularly as the chief bridesmaid was the bride's sister and was herself one of 'my' brides just two years ago and her beautiful little daughter was a flower girl at the wedding.

Nic and Mike were a joy to be with and the wedding was truly wonderful and the golf course afforded us some great photo opportunities. Here are a few of the photographs from the day

McFly in Concert

We have undertaken a great variety of assignments in our time as professional photographers and quite often we have had to use specialist equipment to get the photograph. This usually involved specialist lenses or the like. Never before has that specialist equipment meant ear-plugs!

We were commissioned to photograph the hugely successful band McFly in concert. We were given access to the 'pit' area right in front of the stage and therefore, by necessity, right in front of the speakers too and therefore, it became absolutely essential to wear ear-plugs.

The gig was incredibly. I had forgotten just how much energy (as well as sound) is produced at a rock concert (it's been a while).

The gig took place some months ago and the images were for promotional purposes and therefore we haven't been able to publish them ourselves until now

Another fabulous wedding that everything!

Gorgeous bride, beautiful bridesmaids, Eagle Owl delivering the ring, blessing in the chapel, white doves released after the blessing, falconry display and donkey rides - yes.... donkey rides.

I've been photographing weddings for over 14 years and that is the first time I have ever seen donkeys at a wedding! How fabulous is that and the children loved it (I imagine there might have been a bit of 'clearing up' the next day though).

A terrific wedding with such lovely people. Cheryl and Peter had known each other for a very long time and it showed. So relaxed and easy with each other and everybody else too

Wedding | Katy ♥ Andrew

Back to the sumptuous Peckforton Castle again and why not.

It's not difficult to see why couples looking for that extra special place to get married frequently choose this Cheshire gem.We love photographing weddings here and we are delighted to be their recommended photographers.

Lucky Andrew was marrying the gorgeous Katy on what turned out to be one of the better weather days and it was wonderful to be able to spend most of the day outside particularly as the happy couple had arranged for a release of beautiful pure white doves as well as  a falconry display (not at the same time of course for obvious reasons!)

Llangollen International Musical EisteddfodSunday 8th July 2012

And so the Eisteddfod week draws to a close. Plenty of activities still taking place on the field stages but the competitions are over. Tonight sees the Gala Night concert with performances from Mark Evans, West End and Broadway star John Owen-Jones and the wonderful Wynne Evans (yes, he of "Go Compare" fame). A lovely man with a beautiful voice and a fabulous sense of humour!

The evening started off in an an unusual way. Gareth Malone (famous for his TV series "The Choirs" and the formation of the Military Wives Choir") used the Eisteddfod stage to film part of a new TV series to be aired later this year (not allowed to say too much). Watch this space
