Following on very much in the same vein as Wednesday. Photographing competitors and the events 'on the field' (oh, and dodging the sometimes heavy, rain showers).
The evening celebrity concert was rather special and a complete sell out - Alfie Boe.

Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod
Wednesday 4th July 2012
Wednesday daytime and the Royal Pavilion is packed with visitors from all over the world watching and supporting competitors taking part in various categories of competition from individual instrumental and singing competitions to massed choirs.
Outside of the Pavilion, visitors and competitors having a break wander around the huge crowds, perusing the stalls and perhaps taking in some of the other performances taking place on the outside stages
With our photography we try to capture the essence of the Eisteddfod week which means that not only do we photograph the serious competition and celebrity concerts, but we also capture people just enjoying being at this wonderful event.
In the evening, there was a magnificent celebrity concert where the guest artistes were trumpeter Alison Balsom, violinist Nicola Benedetti and headlining, the wonderful Lesley Garrett MBE - wonderful!
A small sample of photographs from the day.

Commonwealth Carnival | Monday 2nd July 2012
As mentioned on my previous blog entry, this years Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod kicked off with a special event on the very first day that took place at
Westminster Hall within the Houses of Parliament in London. Llangollen
International Musical Eisteddfod joined forces with the Commonwealth
Carnival to put on a special concert with performers and choirs from all
over the Commonwealth to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen's Diamond
Jubilee.
Here are a few of the photographs we took at this very special event

BOND - Llangollen 2010
The first and in my opinion, by far the best, electric string quartet headlined the evening concert at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod on the 8th July 2010. It was great to be able to see, meet and photograph this very talented and photogenic quartet and even though we had been photographing a fantastic wedding earlier in the day (see Rachael and James at Peckforton Castle in the previous blog entry) we made haste to Llangollen to catch this performance.
There was to be no nodding off during this concert as the sound and lighting effects were simply outstanding. The energy these ladies put into their music is amazing and the audience made it perfectly clear they wanted more!
A great night! My ears are still ringing!
